When shirtless, it’s easy to see his well-defined pecs and six-pack. His blond hair is worn long falling to below his shoulders. When in battle, or on the hunt, he’ll tie in in a braid. Otherwise, he wears it loose. His eyes are green like the leaves on a forest floor. He has two horns above each eye. A larger horn that curves up and a much smaller horn closer to the ears. He tends to dress in earth tones like greens or brown, but can wear other neutral colors like grey or black. Personality & Traits
General Overview | Even in his formative years, Nazri knew there was something different about him. Most Qunari have a pact mentality. They are far more concerned about the group and conforming to the group than they are individuals. Conformity was drilled into his head by the Tamassrans from the time he was taken from the people that gave him life. Yet, it was a lesson he never fully learned. Though not always the smartest one in the room, he was pretty shrewd and he managed to keep that individualism to himself until he hit puberty. It was then that he began to manifest magical abilities. At 12, he’d been assigned the role of a hunter, specifically an archer and he began his training in that field. And he was quite adept at it and a quick learner. He rather enjoyed the task he’d been assigned and would have put up with not being able to be who he really was, until his other skills began to manifest. He knew just what would happen if it was discovered that he was a “saarebas”, a dangerous one. Not wanting to be bound and gagged and essentially a prisoner, he ran away and has been on his own since he was fifteen. This has made him even more independent and self-sufficient. He’s also been able to hone his hunting and archery skills as well as his magical prowess He has taught himself to read and write. He is demi-sexual and more concerned with relationships than gender. |
Strengths & Weaknesses | Nazri has a strong moral compass, is courageous, confident, and truly cares about others. He doesn’t always color within the lines, he sometimes takes risks others won’t, his confidence is sometimes seen as arrogance or overconfidence and his concern for others can be used against him. He can’t stand bullies or those that try to hurt the innocent, which can be both a strength and a weakness. He is generally even-tempered and can think fast on his feet, but if he is crossed or sees others taken advantage of, he can explode. He is a skilled archer and hunter, making shots that many others cannot. However, while he can hold his own with a sword, he will never be a master at it. |
Ambitions | He would like to retire someday and write poetry. He is not motivated by money per se, but he would like to make enough so that he can live a comfortable lifestyle and not have to worry about it. On a personal level, he would like to find true love and raise a family. |
Hobbies & Interests | Poetry, Puzzles, codes and ciphers, hunting, Pan flue |
Personal History | Nazri was born in the capital city of Qunandar on the southern coast of Par Vollen. As far as he can make out that was about twenty-five years ago. Records are rather vague so it’s a bit hard for him to be sure. He started to become self-aware around the age of eight or nine and shortly thereafter started to feel like he was somehow different than those around him. He didn’t become aware that it was his individualism, his lack of conformity that was what set him apart, as well as his interest in personal relationships. While doing an admirable job of hiking these feelings and uncertainty, he was a child and the Tamassrans were smart and diligent, and they had seen this kind of thing before. Thinking it might just be a phase, they gave him the benefit of the doubt and just watched him for a while. When he was twelve, they assigned him the role of hunter/archer and he started training for it. Slightly smaller and more agile than most other Qunarians it was a natural fit. They had picked well. They saw more and more signs of his not being in lockstep with the group but continued to just let things go. He wasn’t causing any harm at that point and they figured if he was away a lot, he wouldn’t affect the group dynamic. Then puberty hit and things began to change even faster. Nazari started to become more independent than ever and what was worse is his innate magical talents began to manifest. He could manipulate shadows and move through them. While that was normative in most societies, it was not with the Qunari people, and both Nazri and the Tamassrans knew this and both knew what would happen if Nazri stayed. It wouldn't be good for anyone. So at the age of 15, he left everything he had known up until that point and set out on his own. He had to grow up fast, but so far he has survived and even thrived, earning his keep as a bounty hunter. He’s found there isn’t a lot of difference between four and two-legged opponents. Over the years, Nazri has become more and more at ease with his magical ability and more in control of it. He is however mostly self-taught and seeking to learn how to fine-tune that set so that it matches or exceeds his ability with a bow or to hunt. |

Training and Experience | For someone as big as he is, Nazri is surprisingly light on his feet and is a decent acrobat. He has minimal training with a sword but is smart enough to know it’s better if he avoids melee combat. On the other hand, he is an excellent archer and can make almost any shot in the book. He’s not the best second-story man, though he’s still pretty decent at it. And he is very adept at moving stealthfully. That ability is heightened by his ability to manipulate shadows. |
